River’s Edge Hospital & Clinic provides individual, specialized treatment targeted toward each patient’s needs. Speech therapy is provided in the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Our speech therapist works to improve areas including language, cognition and communication skills (see below for specific areas*), as well as any swallowing deficits. Speech Language Pathologists are educated professionals who provide care to meet individual wants and needs. Goals of therapy include enhancing patient quality of life, meeting patient daily life demands within their environment, and increasing functionality and independence.

  • Sound production
  • Voice, or difficulties with eating or swallowing

Our speech therapist is certified in LSVT Loud and Parkinson’s Voice Project for Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions, as well as VitalStim for swallowing difficulties.   A fiberoptic endoscopy evaluation of swallowing (FEES) test is an instrumental procedure to evaluate swallowing.
