Preparing for your joint replacement surgery
The OrthoEdge Joint Replacement Program includes the involvement of your entire care team: surgeon, physician assistant, hospitalist, physical/occupational therapists, nurses, surgical technologists, and many other team members. The program is designed to expedite you safely and comfortably through the joint replacement process and return you to an active lifestyle as quickly as possible.

To help you better prepare for your upcoming hip or knee replacement, a scheduler from River’s Edge Hospital will call to set up a time for you to come to Joint Camp, a pre-surgery education class. Hip replacement sessions are every Monday at 11 a.m. and knee replacement sessions are Tuesdays at 11 a.m. The class is about one hour in length. Joint Camp is a great opportunity for patients and caregivers to learn more about what to expect while at River’s Edge Hospital.

Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery
River’s Edge Hospital has added Stryker’s Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Technology to the OrthoEdge Total Joint Replacement Program. Dr. Kyle Swanson of The Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic in Mankato is certified in using the Mako Robotic-Arm for Total Knee Replacements. To learn more watch the videos below.
